The day of Casey's birth! Woot!

Happy Birthday Hubby Moon! Today is Casey's 22nd birthday so I must have a mushy moment. He is the best! He's the best husband in the world, my best friend (copper), the best looking (well tied with Channing and McSteamy), an excellent Friend to everyone, an excellent brother, uncle, son....etc.. I could go on and on and on. He's fabulous! So, obviously I'm very grateful for his birth. He is perfect for me in every single way and he makes me happy like no one else can. I love you Sir Moon Face. Woot December 29!

Gratitude

Yesterday was a fantastic day. I dare say a perfect day. Day to day life can be dull and monotonous or stressful and frustrating, but then a day like yesterday happens and I seriously don't think it's possible for life to get better. :) So, here are the ingredients for my fantastic day of rest; sleeping in, playing with Casey and Skills, holding Casey's arms while skills tortures him by licking his face, church (lesson on gratitude), reading while Casey watches football, cooking with Casey, Speghetti, jello for desert, brownies for desert #2, Giving Casey lick torture round 2, Greys anatomy while cuddling on the couch, and finally being sandwiched between Casey and Skills as I fell asleep for the night. What a fabulous day!

Halloween

Yes I know this post is very delayed but this was what we did on Halloween! We carved pumpkins! haha yes, we do realize you are supposed to carve them before the actual night of Halloween but, it was fun anyway! It was my first time actually carving a pumpkin. Mom and dad must not have trusted me and Logan with knives... we always painted ours! any way, Casey carved his Haunted house pumpkin and skills' blues clues pumpkin (yes we carved our dog a pumpkin) in the time that I carved one simple face! In my defense, I was using a kitchen knife while he had a carving tool. We had a blast! We were very proud of our pumpkins!

Me and Skills with the pumpkins. She loved the pumpkin guts! It's her new favorite treat!
The master of the pumpkin carve
Skills with her blues clues pumpkin. Isn't it cute!

I thought this was amazing! In the picture you can't tell but there are a lot of little pillars that are super hard not to break! good job Casey!

Woot Fall!

I absolutely LOVE the fall! It comes from years of playing in the rain and jumping in leaves! The leaves are gorgeous and the weather is fabulous. We have proven that it is a wonderful time to take pictures; last year we did Magnusson family photos and this year we did Moon family photos (which I will post when I get copies). Alright there are a few things that are rough about fall, so here are my lists:

Down-FALLS (haha get it?)
  • you can feel winter coming. winter is cold.
  • It's hunting season. so Hubby Moon is missing on weekends. (I spent 3 1/2 days without him! that's a record since being married. yes I realize I am pathetic.)
  • kinda related to the last one, I hate telling Casey to kill a deer fast, I feel morbid, but I want him to get one so that he stops leaving me! So instead I tell him to catch a deer. It makes me feel better to imagine him catching a deer with his bare hands.

Positives (sorry couldn't think of a whitty pun...)

  • The colors of provo canyon
  • playing in leaves. Which we need to do again Al, think your neighbors would mind?
  • rain.
  • playing in rain
  • the smell of rain
  • the mud that rain makes. I love mud.
  • Halloween (any axcuse to buy candy)
  • Knowing that Thanksgiving is getting close (any excuse to eat food! :))
  • Getting to go to lots of Movies since the weather won't permit out door wanderings. (Casey doesn't like movies, I know, what a weirdo, but this time of year I can get him to take me! Or while he's hunting I go with friends. Woot movies and movie theatre popcorn!!!!)
  • The perfect temperature to curl up with a blanket in my sweats.

So I know this is a strange/lame post but I had to dedicate something to my favorite season and it kind of lets everyone know what we're up to; Casey, hunting, Me, same old same old. :) I hope everyone's enjoying fall!

Enjoy, I sure did!

I want to be friends with this women. This was the best forward that I've gotten in a while. Please enjoy it as much as I did. I TOTALLY agree that this slogan is the worst! but this woman articulates it like I can only dream of doing. :)

Subject: Maxi Pads

This is an actual letter from an Austin woman sent to American company
Proctor and Gamble regarding their feminine products. She really gets
rolling after the first paragraph. It's PC Magazine's 2007 editors'
choice for best webmail-award-winning letter.

Dear Mr. Thatcher,

I have been a loyal user of your 'Always' maxi pads for over 20 years
and I appreciate many of their features. Why, without the LeakGuard Core
or Dri-Weave absorbency, I'd probably never go horseback riding or salsa
dancing, and I'd certainly steer clear of running up and down the beach
in tight, white shorts. But my favorite feature has to be your
revolutionary Flexi-Wings. Kudos on being the only company smart enough
to realize how crucial it is that maxi pads be aerodynamic. I can't tell
you how safe and secure I feel each month knowing there's a little F-16
in my pants.
Have you ever had a menstrual period, Mr. Thatcher? I'm guessing you
haven't. Well, my time of the month is starting right now. As I type, I
can already feel hormonal forces violently surging through my body. Just
a few minutes from now, my body will adjust and I'll be transformed into
what my husband likes to call 'an inbred hillbilly with knife skills.'
Isn't the human body amazing?
As Brand Manager in the Feminine-Hygiene Division, you've no doubt seen
quite a bit of research on what exactly happens during your customer's
monthly visits from 'Aunt Flo'. Therefore, you must know about the
bloating, puffiness, and cramping we endure, and about our intense mood
swings, crying jags, and out-of-control behavior. You surely realize
it's a tough time for most women.
The point is, sir, you of all people must realize that America is just
crawling with homicidal maniacs in Capri pants... Which brings me to the
reason for my letter. Last month, while in the throes of cramping so
painful I wanted to reach inside my body and yank out my uterus, I
opened an Always maxi-pad, and there, printed on the adhesive backing,
were these words: 'Have a Happy Period.'
Are you f------ kidding me? What I mean is, does any part of your tiny
middle-manager brain really think happiness - actual smiling, laughing
happiness, is possible during a menstrual period? Did anything mentioned
above sound the least bit pleasurable? Well, did it, James? FYI, unless
you're some kind of sick S&M freak, there will never be anything 'happy'
about a day in which you have to jack yourself up on Motrin and Kahlua
and lock yourself in your house just so you don't march down to the
local Walgreen's armed with a hunting rifle and a sketchy plan to end
your life in a blaze of glory.

For the love of God, pull your head out, man! If you have to slap a
moronic message on a maxi pad, wouldn't it make more sense to say
something that's actually pertinent, like 'Put down the Hammer' or
'Vehicular Manslaughter is Wrong',
Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that, effective
immediately, there will be an $8 drop in monthly profits, for I have
chosen to take my maxi-pad business elsewhere. And though I will
certainly miss your Flex-Wings, I will not for one minute miss your
brand of condescending bullshit. And that's a promise I will keep.
Always. . .

Best,
Wendi Aarons

Ladies LOVE country boys

Fabulous! Absolutely Fabulous! That is all that I can say about my latest concert goings. Of course I forgot my Camera but maybe I can talk Maeg and Cassie into some of theirs...
First a few weeks ago I got a call from Maegan saying she had 2 tickets to Keith Urban! So I went down, got to hang out with Maeg, ate at California Pizza Kitchen, and got to see a fabulous concert! Now, I must admit, I have never been a huge Keith Urban fan. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of his songs but I just have something against a man with highlights... not really sure why that is? Anyway, as the concert progressed, I could only think of 2 words to describe the man; sex appeal. Even in his sparkly shirt he had this charisma that was undeniable! It was amazing!!! He changed guitars after every song and each one was unique and spectacular. Little Big Town opened for him and they were okay too... But the energy that Keith brings was awesome. He almost got smashed at one point; people got too excited that he was walking by and broke a railing, only one person was hurt, but Maeg was more worried about how Keith was seconds from death, HAHAHA good times.

Next was the wonderful Brad Paisley. Oh how I love this man ;). We went to the concert with Logan and Natalie (thanks for buying the tickets Nat!) and then discovered Casssie and Michael were there! So we had great company! We missed the opening act due to the BYU football game, but we got to see Dierks Bentley, Who was GREAT! He sounds exactly like he does on radio. He even did "What Was I Thinking" which always reminds me of speeding through unpaved areas with Mickey after fixing a broken down truck. And then of course there was Brad. The videos he played were unique and fabulous, and he sounded great as well! He sang most of my favorite Brad songs and the lightening and a little rain made the concert even better!!! We jammed out to "online" "I'm still a guy" "Welcome to the Future" and many more songs and listening to "Then" live made it even better!!! (I love that song. It had to be written for me and Casey.) Anyway, He was FABULOUS!

The concerts were so much fun Thanks Maeg! Thanks Logan, Natalie, Cassie, Michael, and Casey. And a big fat thank you to Keith and Brad for being dream boats.

Laughter

I have found that things that I once found funny, I find funny every time. It's ridiculous how I just can't help but crack up when I see or hear these certain things. So here is my list of things that get me every time! without fail! Some of them have a story behind them, that I won't share don't worry, and some of them are just plain funny.

  • Ice Age the movie (1 and 2). Man it gets me every time.
  • Pop goes the Weasel. (or Plop goes the fat weasel)
  • Skills sleeping on her back.
  • Ali. Any one who knows her knows that you will crack up at least once while with her.
  • "My lasagne!"
  • Batty's rap in Ferngully
  • Thinking about Logans Gay Panguin belly flop.
  • Thinking about Mom beating Logan while trying to act out "abduction" then peeing her pants
  • "That chilli must be getting to me!"
  • Nathan Baum wearing my shirt
  • "The adventures of man hands and fluff"
  • speaking giggle
  • Baby bottle pops
  • Ben and Jerry's
  • Chubby hubby ice cream
  • Sleeping on the street in LA

There are many things that make me crack up. These are just the ones I can think of today. And yes, I'm cracking up as I write this! :)

AWESOME!

Last Wednesday (yes, we missed our first day of classes for this) we got to go to the Nickelback concert!!!! It was freakin' awesome! Saving Abel, Papa Roach, Hinder, and, of course, Nickelback were the bands that were there and all of them were absolutely fabulous! They all sounded exactly as they do on CD and we would know since we were right by the stage! My 2 favorites would have to have been Nickelback of course and probably second was Papa Roach. I was surprised how much I liked Papa Roach because they were the one band that we didn't have their CD and the lead singer had the flu; and still he rocked!!! the concert was at USANA amphitheatre and we were in the pit. We went with Justin and Amanda Richins, Tisha and Shaun, Randy, and His friend Quail. Justin caught a guitar pick thrown by Chad (the lead singer of Nickelback)! and Casey caught a cup that they threw out, he lost it later, but it was just a plastic cup... haha Being in the pit we saw a couple of fights and had a lot of beer thrown on us by Nickelback. It was a fabulous night and I definitely recommend all of these bands! I wish I had pictures! but if you want to see pictures of any of these people let me know, I'll text you the pictures from my phone! Oh and so if you see us walking around in trashy band T-shirts or with our belt buckle (the same one thats on the album cover) No making fun, just be jealous ;). did I mention it was AWESOME!?!

Happy moments

A few days ago I'm sitting in my cubicle working away and a guy comes in and asks for me. My boss points him in my direction and so I turn and see this big vase of roses coming at me. Hubby Moon Face sent me flowers!!! with a note simply saying "I love you" Me and my co-workers spent the next 20 minutes trying to figure out a reason why I got flowers when all of a sudden I realized "it's Casey, I'm sure there for no reason in particular" And I was right. I smiled every time I looked at them. :) It's funny how getting flowers for no reason at all never gets old. Of course I have already killed the majority of the flowers but they were BEAUTIFUL for at least 3 days. That meant 3 days of smiles for me!

Camping: Take 2

Last weekend we went down to Green River UT, (and boy is that a happening town!) for Brandon Pluim's birthday. It was so much fun! Apparently when other people plan it we're are actually good campers. There was this fabulous little beach and I will never forget the view at night with the moon light. Gorgeous. The sand was so amazing! we're planning to go back and steal sand to fill our sand box. The trip started kind of rough, Brandon and I took off our life jackets to swim and next thing you know power trip officer Randy Ford is lecturing us for the next 45 minutes and we have life jacket tickets. But, now we know, every one Randy ever talks about is dead because they did something stupid or they're just plain stupid. haha he was a funny man. Any way we both got life jacket tickets (sad day). But the rest of the trip rocked! the weather was awesome, the company was great, and Tisha is apparently my lucky charm! We're going to Vegas! We played poker and since Tish was rusty she was on my team! We did awesome! we got amazing hands and basically just kicked butt. Any way, it was a good trip and now my faith in camping has been restored! enjoy the pics.

This is the group that went (from left; tisha, emily, brandon, Casey, Katy, Me, Emily, Kyle, and Derek) right before taking the raft out!

Tisha rode with us down and slept in our tent with us! She's so much fun!

This was the beginning of the poker tournament. Me and Tish cleaned house!

The girls! Sorry Katy and Emily I know you hate this pic but I like your cute pregnant bellies! :)

Brandon and Katy Pluim. This is the couple that deserves the big hug! Thanks for planning everything perfectly! you guys are awesome!

Emily trying to kiss a frog! love it! she chased this little guy for like 10 minutes! he chased her a little too.

Casey some how was designated chef! He did so good! everything was delicious! pancakes on the dutch oven lid worked awesome!

Worst Campers Ever!

This last weekend we went to Lake Powell. Woot Lake Powell! Well... turns out we must be a bunch of city folk. An array of things went bad; from not having the boat key and having to get the ignition changed out, Brady getting tripped by a leash and falling out of the front of the boat onto asphault, to coyotes eating the dog food at 4 a.m., and our food melting or turning to goo in the wet coolers, and many many more adventures. Oh and it was hot! But the water was so so so fantastic! I could live in Lake Powell water. Honestly even though everything went wrong and we came home early, I loved it! It was absolutely beautiful there. (the top picture is a picture of our camping spot. We found a decent place to pitch our tents!) We went with Brady and his Fiance Ashlee, and their puppy Cal-lee (Cal-lee is Skills best friend and she is now missing her greatly). Skills absolutely LOVED the water and the sand. Cal-lee wasn't a fan so Skills made sure she kept her nice and matted down with wet sand. Any who, here's a bunch of pictures and next time we go to Lake Powell, I might just have to rent a house boat. :) Oh but at least I'm not so pastey anymore.

Our Camping Spot View. At sunset.

This had me cracking up hystarically! Casey was sleeping and Skills went in and this is how she chose to lay. I wish the tent was tall enough to get a full body shot 'cause Casey's hands look just like Skills. Crossed on his chest. She wants to be just like Daddy. Hahaha!

I'm such a fat kid with my s'mores! They were SO messy!

Casey with one of the cool red rock cliffs behind him.

Ooohhh sweet... the cute engaged couple spent much of their time staring deep into each others eyes. haha! we had fun making fun of them :)

I had so many good pics of these two that it was hard to pic one. But I think this one pretty much captures the "red-neck Yacht Club" theme that we were going for. :)

Here's the two best friends :) I tried to get both of there faces but man they wrestle too much. But at least you get the gist of how insanely dirty they were the whole time. They spent a lot of time digging holes and then fighting over who got to lay in it.

Best Hubby Ever!

So here goes another mushy post. Don't worry, I won't have another one of these for a while! But this one is also very necessary. August 2 will be our second anniversary. Just like last year; we will be camping for the wonderful day! (I don't know how we manage to do that.) Anyway, here we are 2 years later and I still can't believe I snagged up Casey. He really is the best hubby ever. For those of you who have hung out with us, you already know this. I frequently feel bad for people who didn't get to marry him (haha jk! kind of... ) 2 weeks ago some friends of ours were talking about getting married and they decided to make a list of reasons why they want to be married; so me and Casey played too. It was the easiest list I have ever had to make. Here are just a few things that are fabulous about Hubby Moon Face; I married my best friend, he makes me happy when I'm sad, I can never spend enough time with him, and he knows everything about me and I can always be myself and oddly enough at the end of the day he still loves me. If you're reading this you probably know me, I'm kind of strange, luckily Casey says it's cute (cute is code for crazy but it's sweet of him to say so any way.) Well anyway, 2 years down, forever to go! I can't wait! :) And I'm sorry I took Hubby Moon Face off the market. Love you Moon Face.

mushy moments

Ok, this blog is going to be kind of silly but it's what I'm thinking today and I think it needs to be blogged. Tuesday night I had dinner with 2 very amazing people. Katy Plume (did I spell that right?) and Tisha Warburton. They have done a lot for me in my life and I have so much respect and love for these girls. I got to thinking about how I really feel that my friends had a deep impact on me as a person. Things weren't always perfect for any of us but we were there for each other. We had times of distance but I always knew they'd be there if I asked them too. I am a confident (maybe overly confident) person, a strong person, and I have faith in the world, I think these things came, at least partially, from my friends. They brought me up when I was down, they held me when I cried, and I truely believe they will be there forever. We'll continue to laugh together untill we're well beyond wrinkled. So Katy, Tisha, Maegan, Ali, and Dani thank you for always being there when I need you and I hope you know I love you forever.

SKILLS

Ok. So my favorite part is Skills!!! I love her! Now that we have a house we can have a puppy!!! Good guess on the nursery Burlene because she is definitely as spoiled as a baby. (and we actually do have a crib, but no I'm not prego it was just good planning on Casey's part.) Skills is almost 11 weeks old and she is a Black Lab/Viszla mix. So she is all black but her black hair has this red tint to it in the sun. And no, we did not die her hair red. She is so super cute and Casey would like to train her to be a bird dog but I think I ruined her. I'm not so good at discipline unless she's biting someone or peeing on something. Other than that I let her run-a-muck. But she is seriously my baby. I made Logan come sleep with her when we went to Vegas and I try to take her everywhere we go. She also sleeps with us right now so that she'll lick our faces when she has to pee, She's quite the bed hog. Her favorite sleeping postion is laying on her back (she thinks she's a person), she stalks her toys and then pounces (she's part lion), when your holding a toy she wants she'll roll her body (she's part crocodile), she loves to climb on your sholder (she's part parrot), and she tends to waddle when she's being lazy (that's the part of her that's duck). All in all she's a very strange dog which fits in perfect with us! Oh and she LOVES people, Especially kids. She'll try to jump out of the window of the car if she sees someone out there. But yes. That's our baby. She's growing by the second so enjoy the pictures.

Yay!

Wow. It has been a crazy month! We love love LOVE having a house. It is fabulous! We can be as loud as we want! We have a yard to play in and we went from a crowded apartement to a naked house. It has been so much fun! of course we are still not unpacked all of the way and some of the rooms still need a little touch up paint but hey, we'll get there. I must admit that I love having a yard. We got to play football in the rain with Dani and Brady and It was SO MUCH FUN! we had to ring out our clothes and hair afterward and poor Casey and Dani took a couple of falls that looked painful. Of course me and Casey would have won but then Casey says next score wins and so Brady and Dani claim that they won. ;) I also love that I'm not afraid to get on the floor in our house; I feel fine laying on the floor in the living room, the bedroom, the loft, and I'm not afraid I'm going to stand up with spiders dead on me or pokey stickers. Now, I haven't mentioned my absolutely FAVORITE part about our new house yet. Most people know but still, I'm not telling until I can get pictures. I also want to talk about our trip to Vegas. So, in the famous words of Arnold Schwartseneger (sp?), I'll be back. :)

Fear

This quote is my favorite quote of all time. It empowers me. haha yeah that's cheesy I know, but it really does. I gave this quote to my Young Women on the last lesson I taught and I really hope that they listen to it. Any way here it is, even though I'm sure every one has already heard it. It's called "Our Greatest Fear" and it's by Marianne Williamson and was also used in a powerful speech by Nelson Mandela.

Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously giveother people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

We Should Jam Out

So this is going to be a random post. It's actually my ode to music (did I write that correctly?). Any one who has heard me sing would not know that music can speak to my soul like nothing else can. Music can completely change my mood or sympathize with my struggles. Many bands speak to my soul. Colin Raye was one of my first CD's I ever purchased, I was like 10 and he has spoken to my soul ever since. Any who... my list could go on and on, it really just depends on my mood. Lately Hinder has been my angry music, when I want to feel girly I'll listen to Taylor Swift, when I want to feel like I can maybe sing a little I listen to sugarland, when I want to totally jam out I listen to a mix of fantastic nineties songs mixed with some early 2000's that Boomy made for me. Any way, I was thinking about this today as I was listening to our new Shinedown CD, The Sound of Madness. If you have not heard this CD I recommend it. They have an emotional poetic-ness about them, You can totally feel their emotion. Any who, Sorry if you've ever heard me sing, but, it's not going to stop! :)

Happy Birthday to me!

So... every one guess what I'm getting for my birthday. now I'll tell you...................................... A HOUSE! me and Casey close on our new house on May 4. check it out http://www.spanishforkutahhomeforsale.blogspot.com/ This is where me and Casey will call home for the next chapter in our lives. haha that sounded so cheesey. So for those of you who have talked to us lately this has basically consumed all of our free time. And yes we have been accepted on 2 others that we later backed out on, so no, you don't have to believe me when I say we WILL take this one. But, for the record, no bad has come with this one, only good so it's definite. Any way I'm insanely nervous (change is hard for me, commitment is hard for me, buying a house is like a nightmare!) and Casey is Insanely excited! especially after this weekend when we discovered leak number 3 in our apartment (upstairs neighbor has a leak in there water heater. this has caused a lovely musty smell throughout our entire apartment.). Any way we are super excited. now I can have a dog! well, when I have more time to play with one. Oh and yes, that is a tramp that you see, so of course we are going to have some killer sleepovers on the tramp. Casey doesn't understand my excitement for that fact but some other people understand my joy. But whether you like to sleep on the tramp or not that deck will make a killer barbecue; so be ready to eat some meat! :)

*Love Languages*

So I've been wanting to read the book "the Five Love Languages", by Gary Chapman, for a while now and I finally did. I made it a school project so I kinda killed two birds with one stone. (I will warn you now that this blog is just a total rambling of thought so feel free to stop reading right now. ) the Five Love Languages are;1)Words of Affirmation 2)Quality Time 3)Receiving gifts 4)Acts of Service and 5)Physical touch. This book really got me thinking and I think it really helped me to learn some things. I thought instantly that I was words of affirmation because, well, I love words. I love to speak I love to listen to others speak, and I think the ability for expression is a great gift. Well surprise, I'm totally quality time, it's not what people say it's that they took the time out to talk to me and spend time with me. I'm also a little physical touch. And Casey I thought was gifts, that's how he shows people he cares, it's how he tries to get love, he'll buy you dinner, presents, movie tickets (he paid for a lot of me and Ali's stuff while we were dating...) well after reading further even though that's how Casey shows love it's not how he receives it (whew, what a relief for a penny pincher like me!) Casey is totally physical touch and words of affirmation. A back massage or scratch or a belly rub with a "you look hot" mean more to him than any present I could give. I also learned that I have been spoiled rotten. Casey has been fulfilling all of these love languages, for almost 2 years now! Hopefully now he knows my language he won't have to try so hard (maybe he'll spend less money on me?! That'd be nice... haha, like I said I'm spoiled rotten.)
So anyway, then we get into this little debate with the fam on Sunday; are all men physical touch? yes all men need sex, it's biology. But is that more important than anything else? Most of the family thinks that most or all men are. I disagree. I think a little physical touch is important to everyone, especially kids, but that doesn't mean it's the most important thing for showing love. I think my Dad's is acts of service, but mom disagrees (ew!). Any way it gave me a lot to think about and I recommend this book to couples. I think if you want to express love you have to be willing to do things that aren't for you; if not a void will form and love can diminish. I just wish I could figure out my mother in laws love language, I want her to know we love and appreciate her but I don't know how. I'll keep my eyes open. But yes if I randomly tell you "oh your love language is.... " now you know why. I'm only slightly crazy. I'm just trying to solve the "are all men physical touch?" mystery, I'll be psychoanalyzing everyone til I know.

Colors!

So every year at the Krishna temple in Spanish Fork they have a Color Festival. So this year me and Michelle decided we were going to go check it out. It was crazy!!! there were so many people there! it was nuts! we got there a little late and I was rushed to get to a bridal shower so I really didn't get to explore the temple and the festivities like I wanted but it was still really cool. it was like a giant concert, people were crowd surfing and and it was crazy loud. All the while everyone was covered in colored corn starch. Yes, I said corn starch, we always thought it was chalk but nope! What they do is the burn the epitaph which is a symbol of a witch who brought evil or something but was stopped by her brother. (yes I know I shouldn't even try to explain if I don't really know, so check it out for yourself. if you google "color Festival" it comes up but add spanish fork if you want to narrow it down to this one.)

So here are some pics of me and Casey at the festival. Michelle didn't want to be posted on my blog and Jenny Frances has some more pics but these will give you an idea. Sorry the bottom one is so creepy but I was trying really hard not to blink because I do that a lot in pictures.

Oh and P.S. Casey's a hater and hated all of the "cut class not frogs" and "save the animals" type stuff. But I think he just didn't get to know the culture enough.

Go Bruins!

So Logans team (as in Salt Lake Community College) took the National Junior College Championship! woohoo! Me and Casey crammed in mom and dad's computer room with Luke and Missy and listened to the game. Man was it intense, they were down by like 16 and half time and I will admit, I lost faith. But then, the family would say it was Logan that picked up the tempo but no matter how it happened Salt Lake hit a flow and won! yay! we're all way excited about it and really proud of Logan. We got to watch him on the news (wearing orange shoes haha! oh logan...) and now everyone on the team is getting more looks from colleges and yeah it's pretty cool. The first picture is the team!

It's been a really long time since I've blogged anything because I've been waiting for pictures. I'm a slacker. So I'm kind of putting two blogs together since they sort of tie together.

Like a month ago me and Casey got to go to Idaho with the family for Logans region tournament. Yes, I know Idaho is lame and we shouldn't have been so excited but we got to see Lance and Lexi and the Kids and it's so fun to get my crazy family all together! Ruby got sick and threw up and poor Lexi had a stress fracture but despite these things it was a blast! We got to swim lots and Carter and Cole are basically unseperable. All in all it was a great weekend and I had millions of pictures so here are just a few. :)

Childish

So quite frequently Casey shakes his head at me for my childish behaviors. Mostly he supports them and just kisses me for being crazy. So here are the confessions for the day even though most people already know these things about me. I've always liked this picture from our wdding. I thought it was appropriate. :)

  • I still sleep with a stuffed animal. His name is Hershey and he sleeps with me and Casey.

  • I still have a "wubby" and I love it (my green football helmet blanket). Since I now have Casey I don't need it all the time anymore.... only when there's no Casey or I'm sick.

  • When I have a bad day or I'm sick I watch Disney movies. And yes I have most of them memorized. And yes I sing out loud with every song.

  • I still run and jump on my bed when it's dark. It's a habit from youth when I thought a giant rat was under my bed.

  • I love to jump in puddles and play in the rain. Now many people will say this is not childish, just a good time, but some disagree.

  • I wish I had a princess back pack. And I wish that grown ups could wear tee-shirts with characters on them. I think some ones favorite character shows a lot about there personality. I would wear superman one day, pocohantas the next and pinky and the brain would be tossed some where in there as well.

  • This one I wouldn't say is "childish" more like pre-teen. I read books that are totally easy reads. I don't like books that make me think too much. Right now I'm reading "vampire Diaries".

Well that's enough for today. I'd like to do a spot light weekly of my heroes. I have so many, but I'd like to get pictures first. Hopefully that'll start soon!

fun times

So last night I played basketball for the first time in a long time. Man I miss that sport. I came home with a big ol' fat jammed finger that I can't bend, asthma, shin splints, nail scratches, and bruises. And it was totally worth it! It's church ball so of course its insanely chaotic and ugly but it's so much fun! (and my teams pretty good! we've got some great players, last night we won and it was 4 on five most of the time and 3 on five part of the time, and we weren't the team with 5.) I came home and Casey told me I wasn't allowed to go any more. I had nail marks and my jammed finger and I kept coughing cause I'm fat and out of shape. haha I laughed in his face! Running for no reason is absolutely no fun. Running while playing basketball is so fun! you're running in hopes of getting the ball and scoring, or cutting off some else to keep them from scoring. church balls nice because to them I'm huge! so I get TONS of blocks and rebounds. Also it's nice that even though I think I'm doing awful I fit right in with the players there! (was that rude? it wasn't meant to be? I miss being on a team, dang my lack of talent and drive! well this was a random blog but now I know i can type just fine on my fat finger! :) haha now I need to play some volleyball! too bad I don't have a pic of my finger or me playing to put on here.. oh well!

Vacation!

So I was waiting until I could put a picture on here of like an elk or me and casey or the gorgeous frost covered trees or maybe me rubbing big foots nipple. But since it hasn't happened I can't hold off any longer. We went to Jackson hole last weekend!!! It was so fun! thursday I sent Casey a text saying "we need a vacation", Casey said "you're right, lets go." So after work we left. We went to the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in, besides our first night of marriage, and it was so fun! we spent a lot of time doing absolutely nothing, we just, relaxed and Casey wouldn't let me think about anything serious. We shirked all responsibility; work, church, teaching classes, plans with friends, everything! We ate at Casey's favorite restaurants and got delicious buttermilk pie from bubbas. My favorite part was the sleigh ride. the sleigh was pulled by big clydesdale (spelling?) horses and we got within five feet of coyotes, and tons of giant elk! Casey was in heaven! We saw swans, eagles, thousands of elk, coyotes, mountain goats, and Moose. Of course we saw moose, I always see a moose when I'm in nature. I'm the moose whisperer. Any way I'll try to get some pictures put on. But basically it was heaven on earth. It was perfect and great and Casey rocks! Yay Vacation!!!

Boring...

I wish this blog was for something cool or exciting... well it's not. We just started our next semester of school. Oh school. Casey should graduate (aka get his commercial journey-mans license) in May of 2010. I should have my bachelors in Next December (cross your fingers). But right now it just seems so monotonous and pointless. I was really excited for some of my classes this semester, I'm taking an intro to group psychotherapy class (we do group therapy every Wednesday! sounds exciting to me!), a clinical interviewing class (which for me is the scariest part of therapy, where do I start? what do I ask? etc.), and American Sign Language which I absolutely love! I'm also taking a career prep class and my first day of that is tonight. I'm kind of disappointed my actual psychology/social work classes... One of my teachers is losing his hearing and so he doesn't understand when we talk, he also talks very quiet and the experiences he shares I can't quite make the connection to what he's trying to teach us. My other teacher I think is going to make us do a lot of busy work, to try to learn on our own what to ask a client. Hopefully group therapy and interviewing will be a lot better experience than what I'm expecting.
I guess the main thing is we're now back to being so busy that we have little time to play or talk to anyone and little time to be together. Did you know the average college graduate remembers 6% or less of what they learned in college? And it's SO BORING! I really was excited and positive about my classes, and I still have high hopes, but man my life is dull right now. I crave social interaction; I'm not getting too much of that. I get to talk to Michelle at work, Casey nights before bed and my family on Sundays, I'm trying to fit some other people in but it's just not happening. Oh well... one more year! And I just realized this blog sounds like I'm depressed or something; I'm not! haha! my life is the best life anyone could possibly ask for, I have so many great people around me! I'm just complaining because I don't get enough time with those great people! I didn't even call ali on her birthday! she got a lame text! So that's my new years resolution I suppose. To use my free time to stay close to the great people in my life who I love, and to find free time in which to do it in.
I apologize if you wasted time reading this. But it helped me work out some things; so I feel better now... The world revolves around me!

Decisions; ugh

Any one who knows me knows what a bad decision maker I am. It takes me a half hour to pick a movie! And not just at Mom's where movies are overflowing, but even in me and Casey's shabby collection. Well this last month me and Casey have been dealing with some pretty big issues and trying to decide what to do about them (yes, I realize I'm being vague, sorry, but for now it's going to stay vague.) We're also trying to better ourselves. We've been letting ourselves slip and we got tired of it. So we're trying to kick it up a gear and be better people. Hopefully we can grow spiritually so that when the Lord tries to guide us towards what's right we'll be able to hear it. I hate making decisions; but these are BIG decisions. Grown up decisions. Haha, yes I know I'm a grown up but I've spent my life up till now running away from being a grown up (neverland any one?) Good thing Casey's been a grown up since he was 10; I don't know what I'd do with out him.
Also, we have a new nephew, Jesse Brent Moon. He's adorable! I wish I could somehow get pictures on here because I'm so proud of Casey's bro and sister in law. They are so excited and such cute parents! But, as me and Casey don't have a computer I'll have to figure out how to get pictures to work.... hm... Any way, Jesse was born on Casey's birthday (which for some reason Casey has always wanted! I'm way too selfish to share my birthday. ;) ) And we are so excited to have him. Casey's nieces and nephews are so adorable! We used to fight over who's (whose?) were cuter but now I love them all so much! We just need Lance and Lexi and Robin and Brian to move to Utah so I can see my 3 nephews and Caseys 2 nieces more! But I am really glad that we have plenty close by!
